So what's a bacteriophage? You ask. I know, the last thing you want to have to do with all that brain fog is to assimilate another thirteen-letter word into your vocabulary, but this is one you might want to learn, because the bacteriophage can help you to kill borrelia. Although it is a virus, the bacteriophage, if used properly, can be a friendly kind of virus, that invades and infects unwanted bacteria in the body, and then dies. What a refreshing change from having a bunch of killer viruses bent on breaking your body, don't you think?
These special viruses are supposedly the most abundant and diverse biological entities on the planet, and one of the largest natural sources for phages and other viruses is sea water. Their name comes partially from the Greek word "Phagein", which means "to eat." The first part of their name tells you what they eat...bacteria!
Obviously, though, you don't want just any ol' phages hanging out in your bloodstream, but rather ones that are targeted towards specific infections. Fortunately, by taking the bio-electric footprint of one of these viruses and cross-matching it to a targeted bacterium or microbe, phages can be created to eradicate infections such as borrelia. Such phages are actually called "homeophages" because they are made from the virus' energy and not the virus material itself. Hence, they are a homeopathic type of remedy that works effectively to kill targeted microbes in the body without harming the body's friendly bacteria.
One physician, Dr.T. Watkinson, has made phages for mycoplasma, borrelia, babesia and others. He notes that phages can also be used to take the body from a T2 chronic inflammatory response back to a T1 response, which is important for healing from Lyme disease and other chronic illnesses.
Another benefit of phage therapy is that infections cannot develop resistance to treatments, as they can with antibiotics. Also, they can cross the blood-brain barrier to get to the bugs that are deep in hiding in your gray matter. Furthermore, fewer herxheimer-type reactions occur with phages, and they are capable of eradicating antibiotic-resistant infections.
The idea of phages isn't a new one. They were discovered as early as 1915, at the Twort At Brown Institute, although at that time they hadn't yet been recognized as viruses. Today, they are used in meat processing and packing, as well as in cheese manufacturing to control unwanted bacteria in food. So why aren't we using them more in medicine? I don't know. The same question might be asked about hundreds of other effective natural health remedies.
Homeophages can also be used for the treatment of other chronic health conditions, such as Crohn's, Lupus, type 1 diabetes, early MS, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, liver and kidney disease, autism and mental illness.
Certainly the ghostly footprints of phages should be more widely exploited and taken advantage of in Lyme disease. Other than Dr. Watkinson, however, I do not know of any other health care practitioners who are choosing this unique homeopathic-type modality to heal their patients.

Connie, I just wanted to point out that this cross-matching of energetic frequencies is the same basis behind the bionic 880 treatment. Perhaps this is why this treatment has been so helpful for so many, and maybe only 5 treatments are needed because the machine is able to project light directly into the bloodstream vs. a homeopathic fluid which must be ingested and digested before reaching pathogens via the bloodstream.
Also, while I'm speculating (to put it mildly), photons are able to skip the much-maligned hurdle of crossing the blood brain barrier entirely. This may be why homeopathics may work wonders on lyme in the body, but not quite as well for neuro-lyme.

I found some of your information on phage therapy confusing - perhaps that is my problem; but I thought the following might be of interest:
The French-Canadian microbiologist, Felix d'Herelle, while working at the Institute Pasteur in Paris in 1917 discovered phage therapy which uses highly specific viruses, bacteriophages, which have been observed to be harmless for humans, to treat bacterial infections, including infections caused by superbugs. While there is considerable expertise on phage therapy in Canada and the USA at the research level medical phage therapy is not currently approved or practised in Canada; however, according to a letter signed by a former federal health minister phage therapy can be made available legally to Canadian patients under the Special Access Program of our Food & Drugs Act! Additionally, there are moral and ethical reasons for making phage therapy available in countries that are members of The World Medical Association which states: "In the treatment of a patient, where proven prophylactic, diagnostic and therapeutic methods do not exist or have been ineffective, the physician, with informed consent from the patient, must be free to use unproven or new prophylactic, diagnostic and therapeutic measures, if in the physician's judgement it offers hope of saving life."
A discussion of phage therapy is currently very timely, not only because too many patients are dying of superbug infections; but also because of the recent release of the Canadian film: Killer Cure: The Amazing Adventures of Bacteriophage and the June 2006 release of the book by Thomas Haeusler entitled, Viruses vs. Superbugs, a solution to the antibiotics crisis? Further, the phage therapy file has dramatically changed because the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has amended the US food additive regulations to provide for the safe use of a bacteriophage preparation on ready-to-eat meat and poultry products as an antimicrobial agent against Listeria monocytogenes (see http://www.fda.gov/OHRMS/DOCKETS/98fr/02f-0316-nfr0001.pdf ). Listeria causes an estimated 2,500 cases of mainly foodborne infections in the USA annually and as many as 500 deaths; however, the idea that ready-to-eat meat can be treated if contaminated with Listeria bacteria while a doctor could not get a pharmaceutical grade phage therapy product when faced with a patient suffering listeriosis strikes this author as absurd.
Superbugs are everybodys business because sooner or later everybody will be faced with an infection or know a relative or friend who will be suffering or dying with one. Withholding such treatment from patients when antibiotics are failing ought to be a crime; however, those who have the money, knowledge and time to travel when faced with an infection where antibiotics are failing may be able to get phage therapy treatment in Georgia , Europe ( http://www.phagetherapycenter.com ), Poland - http://www.aite.wroclaw.pl/phages/phages.html or more recently at the Wound Care Center, Lubbock, Texas ( http://www.woundcarecenter.net/ ) .

Thanks for your comments. Yes, I imagine the Bionic 880 is similar to phage therapy in that they both use specific, targeted frequencies to kill microbes. Do you know if the Bionic 880 use frequencies of foreign microbes, or the frequency of the microbe itself, or another kind of frequency, to target infections in the body? I think it is in this regard that Phage therapy might differ from the Bionic 880 when it comes to frequencies.
Also, homeopathy, in my understanding, can cross the blood-brain barrier. It matters not that the medium used is a liquid. But you may be right in that light therapy is somehow more efficient. I wouldn't know.
How do you know that homeopathics don't work as well in neuro-Lyme? Has this been your experience or the experience of others?

as i understand it, the bionic uses nosodes of borrelia. As I heard the IOCOB explain it (although they're highly skeptical of biophoton therapy being effective therapeutically), the biophoton machine projects light with a vibrational frequency that is the mirror image of the pathogen. I thought that was what you meant when you said "cross-matching it to a targeted bacterium or microbe."
As for homeopathics not being effective on neuro lyme, that is only from my personal experience. I apologize for not putting a disclaimer. I took homeopathics with the vibrational frequencies of all viruses & bacteria detected with the Asyra (Cowden's electrodermal testing kit), but none my neuro symptoms began to be resolved until I started ABx.
Have you found them helpful for your neuro symptoms?

Interesting what the author of the article writes about how phages are authorized for food sanitation but that physicians cannot use these same phages to help a sick patient. It is, I think, another indication of what is going wrong with health care in the USA and other developed countries.

Both the Bionic 880 and phage energy are homeopathic type remedies; in that they are similar. But as I understand it, phage energy is not the energy of borrelia, but rather the energy of a virus used to target borrelia. Similar, but different, I think.
I haven't used homeopathy for neuro Lyme; however, I am currently using it for emotional trauma. I'll let you know how it goes! If it works for me, I'll do a blog post on it.
Thanks for the info. and for sharing your experience. I have wondered how people have fared using the Asyra and the homeopathics designed from its frequencies. Your experience is evidence that perhaps it isn't quite as effective as it seems.
